Optical Engineering in University of Shanghai for Science & Technology From Basic to Application

Abstract:

The difficulty of focusing light beam out of diode laser is discussed and the physics of limitation in the focusing is estimated. A number of approaches are mentioned in beam shaping techniques to reconstruct beam configuration so as to focusing light beams into fiber of 100um diameter or smaller. 

Bio: 

1963 Graduated from Physics dept, Science & Technology University of Shanghai with conjunction study at Fudan University, then as a scientist of Shanghai Institution of Physics Technologies, Science Academy of China from 1963 to 1982. Doing Post Doctoral work at Physics Dept at Purdue University for two years, then as a scientist at Institute of Infrared Physics, Science Academy of China. From 1993 working as Diode laser Package Engineer, Optical Engineer for Coherent, Spectra Physics, QPC, HMT & Alfalight, etc.
