The Introduction of LCD( Liquid Crystal Display), LCOS( Liquid Crystal On Silicon), DSL( Digital Light Processing) and Other Display System

 

Abstract:

This seminar will begin with basic optical concept of LCD( Liquid Crystal Display) and screen projector. I will discuss some key components inside the device such as liquid crystal, electrode , color filter, polarizer and light source( which will includes so called Optical Engine) , I will doing some real parts demo during the seminar.

Biography:

   Rensue Wong () received his B. S. degree in Physics from the (ԭW)Chung-Yuan Christian University, Taiwan , M. S. degree in Physics/Optics from the University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso, Texas.  From 1985 to 1989, he studied Nonlinear Optics and Optical Data Storage in the North Texas State University ,Denton ,Texas and the Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California , respectively.
Mr. Wong had 20 years experience in the field of Optics, Fiber Optics and Opto-Electronics. He had worked company such as AMP, KLA-Tencor, Agilent ..
  When he worked on AMP,  he designed ,developed and maintained the fiber optics fused components production line, such as fused singlemode wideband coupler, fused singlemode WDM, fused multimode star coupler, fused fixed attenuator and singlemode 1XN tree coupler. He got two patents during the last two products development.
He has been working in the area of fiber optics, external cavity laser diode, laser diode to fiber coupling / packaging and the optical system for wafer inspection.
He had worked on Agilent Technology Santa Clara Site. He was involved in the field of developing and manufacturing of the optical delivery system for Laser Interferometers and Optical Encoder.
 Since 2003, Mr. Wong was involved in the field of optical system testing for the LCOS( Liquid Crystal on Silicon) projector, LCD color filter manufacturing/inspection and the testing of Liquid Crystal Based Zoom Lens.  Where he got one patent issued and other patent in pending for those products development.
Mr. Wong holds three U. S. Patents and one in pending. All of them are fiber optics and optical related. He was EOA president 2003-2005, He is a member of OSA and SPIE since 1990.
