China C Taiwan C USA, Based on Economic Development
Abstract:
Relations between countries are basically dictated by each other's strength
and eco power. This is particularly true on the Cross-Strait and US/China
relations. The speaker will review the comparison of recent eco development
of these three countries to arrive at a number of unique political and
diplomatic forecasts.
Biography:
Dr. Lester H. Lee is one of the old
timers in Silicon Valley. He came to America 50 years ago after finishing
high School in China. He is a graduate of U. of Illinois and settled in
Silicon Valley after getting his Ph. D from Stanford in Mechanical
Engineering.
He is currently president of Recortec, Inc. a company he started over 30
years ago. Recortec is now the oldest Chinese owned hi-tech company.
As an early Chinese entrepreneur, Dr. Lee has helped to organize many early
Chinese hi-tech organizations such as CIE, Chinese Institute of Engineers,
AAMA, Asian American Manufacturers Association, and MJ, Monte-Jade
Technology Association.
He has also been extremely active in the local Chinese community. He and his
wife Helen have been major supporters of many early Chinese political
candidates in America. He himself is the first ever Chinese being appointed
to the Board of Regents, the governing body of the 9 campus University of
California.
Eight years ago back in 2000, he also founded and served as the chairperson
of Northern California Chinese for Peaceful Unification (CPU-NC). His
presentation today reflects collections of data plus all the spirited
discussions to arrive at many unique conclusions and observations.
