Abstract:
Silicon Valley based
BridgeLux, Inc. is a leading supplier of energy saving high power LED chips.
Customers worldwide use BridgeLux LED chips to replace traditional bulb
technology with solid state products that provide a powerful and
energy-efficient source of blue, green or white light. The LED market
reached $4.2 billion in 2006 and will reach $9 billion by 2011. Growth in
the high-brightness LED market in the next 3-5 years will be driven by
lighting, display backlighting and automotive applications. LED is an
ultimate form of lamp, and its development can and will continue until all
power levels and colors are realized.
Biography:
Dr. Chai received her Ph.D. from Rice University in
1992 where she developed metal-doped buckyball materials under Nobel Prize
winner Dr. Smalley, and she continued her academic career as a
post-doctorate research fellow at Yale University. Dr. Chai next applied her
talents at United Technologies in the development of thermal barrier coating
materials and in failure analysis engineering. In early 2002, she
transitioned to InGaN LED chip marketing and technical support with AXT
Optoelectronics (later acquired by Lumei Optoelectronics) where she
developed business throughout Asia while holding the positions of Director
of Technical Support and VP of Marketing. Dr. Chai joined BridgeLux
(Sunnyvale, CA) in August 2005
where she leads the company's efforts in technical marketing and
sales as Vice President.
